 About Me

I’m a licensed clinical psychologist, having earned the Doctor of Psychology degree (Psy.D.)  from Antioch University New England in 1996. My career has taken me to several interesting places, including work on a psychiatric emergency service and about ten years of clinical and administrative service in the Massachusetts state prison system. I served as the Director of Mental Health Services at MCI-Shirley and MCI-Framingham as well as being a staff psychologist at the Massachusetts Treatment Center and MCI-Cedar Junction. I opened my private practice in Brighton in 2002, where I see adults and couples.  My clinical interests are quite varied and I regularly attend trainings and seminars and seek consultation with experts to keep my skills and knowledge current. I am certified in the use of clinical hypnosis by the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis.

Among the problems I regularly work with and am qualified to treat:

- Depression
- Anxiety and panic
- Problems with self-esteem
- Confusion and/or conflict about sexual orientation
- Alcohol abuse and dependence
- Drug abuse and dependence
- Sexual addiction
- Self-defeating relationship patterns
- Relationship problems
- Problems controlling anger
- Social anxiety and shyness
